Covid 19 Update

Friday 20th March 5pm

Hi everybody after a lot of thinking and discussion we have decided that we will temporarily close the skatepark after today’s sessions. It’s not been an easy decision, the last thing we want is an empty skatepark, but taking into account the many factors and guidance we feel it is the sensible decision at this moment. We will come through this and the skatepark will re-open. If anything changes, we will post on our website and social media.

For those with party bookings we will be in touch and those with passes we will put on hold unless we hear from you.

Stay safe, we’ll see you all soon and we’ll start planning the re-opening parties.

Friday 20th March 7.30am

We will be open as normal today. We are deciding on what we do this weekend and will update the website and social media by midday.

Please note we are not hiring helmets.

We are continuing with all the recommended actions by regularly cleaning surfaces and have hand washing facilities with soap which everybody needs to use on entering the park. We will continue to hire scooters, bmx’s and skateboards but we have decided to not hire helmets (we do have helmets to sell at a reduced cost). As it is such a rapidly changing situation we are continually reviewing our plans and if we stay open. Updates will be posted every day.

If you have a monthly pass and don’t want to attend the skatepark please let us know by texting 07985468606 with riders name and we will put the month pass on hold until further notice.

If you have a party booked we will be in touch over the next couple of days.

Thank you

Project Viewing Gallery

Nigel Potter : November 20, 2017 10:45 am : News

As winter draws close and the weather starts to bite, we’ve some exciting news on a new development at the park.
We’ve been working with Logic Architecture to find an affordable solution to creating a warm space for spectators.
The images in this post will,  hopefully, give you a feel of what we are trying to create.
We will be looking at the project in two phases. Phase one will be to create an independent floor above the existing reception and toilet area using a permanent scaffold structure.
Then phase two will be to self-build a room on top that will be heated and provide viewing over the park.
The Architects are now working with a scaffold company, and their structural engineer, to finalise the details of creating the independent floor, and building control, to ensure it meets building regulations.
Over the past couple of years we have saved money and received donations from British Airways, Darlington Business Club, JLB Building and Roofing, and our donations jar, which will help us to pay for the first phase.
We are now starting to raise the funds for phase two, which will cost six to eight thousand pounds. As a registered charity we are busy applying for grants to help us achieve the funding we need, but park users, and supporters, can also help and donate via a justgiving page, or direct to 4Motion Darlington (speak with Nigel 07985468606) or you may be able to donate time and help with the self-build of the heated room. Any help is always greatly appreciated!

Re timescales the architects and scaffold company have just met and working to finalise the plans with building control. We’ll keep you all updated as we move forward.
